With the mission of providing the highest standard of Customer service by offering a wide range of books in all categories at reasonable prices, Jeya Book Centre started its services over thirty years ago in the early part of 1980s at a prominent location within People’s Park Complex in Pettah, the heart of the commercial hub of Colombo. Eventually it moved to other locations in and around Colombo. First to Kollupitiya and then to Wattala, Nugegoda and Kandy, all located at easy to reach places at each respective city or suburbs.

Jeya Book Centre is the first choice for students and doctors when it comes to medical books, in addition it is also the top supplier to libraries at most universities, ministries and various other government and private institutions and organizations throughout the country.

As well, it is also the leading supplier of textbooks to all major international and private schools around the country. More than simply being a supplier, the company organizes exhibitions in the respective schools to make the process of purchasing textbooks more convenient and hassle free for parents.

The company has been an importer of English books from the very beginning. Today it is leading in the import of Medical, International School, Fiction and Non-Fiction books from various countries including United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore and more. Books are imported from major world publishers including but not limited to Elsevier, Nelson Thrones, Pearson Education, Harper Collins, Taylor & Francis, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Penguin, Lippincott, Naveet, Alston, Redspot.

The company has also ventured into the field of publication and has published more than 200 titles including textbooks, workbooks and supplementary books which are preferred and included in the curriculum of in a number of private schools and also past papers for scholarship and local O/Level and A/Level exams.

The company is also a prime sponsor and active participant in the annually held Colombo International Book Fair at BMICH.
